CYCLE MAINTENANCE
Every bike we sell should be reliable and give you many years of service if you look after it properly.
Below is a guide to the maintenance you should be carrying out on your bike at regular intervals.

EVERY RIDE
Check tyre pressure and the tread and casing for wear and tear and embedded glass etc
Check all quick releases are tight and the wheels are secure
Squeeze the brakes tight to check they function, check pads for wear and make sure brake pads are aligned to the rim and not rubbing on the tire
Check the suspension fucntions correctly
Lube the chain and mechs if they look dry or show signs of corrosion
EVERY MONTH / 500 MILES
Clean the bike properly with a bucket of hot soapy water, checking the frame and components for signs of damage
Clean drivetrain components with a rag and degreaser and then re-lube
Check the wheels for loose spokes
Check all the nuts, bolts and other fixing to ensure they are correctly tightened
Check all the cables are moving freely and replace or lube as needed
Lube or service suspension components as per owners manual
EVERY 6 MONTHS / 1500 MILES
Clean the bike properly with a bucket of hot soapy water, checking the frame and components for signs of damage
Check tyres and replace if needed
Check hubs, headset and bottom bracket and adjust, grease or replace as needed
Check all the cables are moving freely and check the housings for cracks and splits
Check for worn brake pads and bar tape/grips
Check the drivetrain components for wear, replace or clean and re-lube as needed
Lube or service suspension components as per the owners manual
EVERY YEAR / 3000 MILES
Check all bearing, hubs, headset, bottom bracket, etc and grease or replace as needed
Check tyres and replace if needed
Check the wheels and rims for wear, especially worn rims. Replace or true as needed
Check all the cables are moving freely and check the housings for cracks and splits
Check for worn brake pads and bar tape/grips
Check the drivetrain components for wear, replace or clean and re-lube as needed
Lube or service suspension components as per the owners manual checking for wear
